Family members often speak unthoughtful or even hurtful words to each other. Many times they do not intend to hurt each other, but it happens anyway. When these things go unacknowledged, people can become bitter and resentful. Sometimes the ones we love most also become the ones we are most resentful of. People who have kept grudges and resentments for years often don’t even remember what started the problem. So many times stubbornness and fear get in the way of reconciling relationships, when a kind word or a simple step forward might make all the difference.
